Description:
Stock Ledger is monthly summary of stock purchased, sold or moved by District Unit of the corporation. The book is maintained commodity wise, scheme wise and MLS point wise and contains
· Opening balance,
· Total purchases
· Total issues
· Closing balance
The stock can be acquired in any one of the following ways:
· Purchases à from Food Corporation of India or other parties.
· Transfer-in à Intra /Inter district transfer-in
· Storage gain
· Transit gain
The stock can be disbursed in any one of the following ways:
· Sales à The sales commodities covering FPS, Retail counters,
· Open market and all other prevailing schemes
· Transfer Out à Intra /Inter district transfers-out
· Transit Loss à Both written off and not written off transfer losses
· Storage Loss à Handling Losses
The stock entries follow the following equation.
Tot. Stock Acquired = OEIV + Transfer-in + Transit Gain + Storage Gain
Total Issues = OEV + Transfer-out + Transit Loss + Storage Loss
Closing Balance = Opening Balance + Tot. Stock Acquired - Tot. Issues
Entry
Guidelines:
At the end of every month, the above details are to be entered.
Correction is 0 in case of first entry. If any corrections are to be made against already entered month/year, do the following:
1) First enter a canceling entry for the same month/year and commodity. Enter the correction no. as 1. Enter quantities as negative values.
2) Make another entry for the same month/year and commodity. Enter the correction No. as 2. Now, make all the correct entries in relevant columns.
3) In case one more correction is to be made, repeat the steps 1 and 2, always incrementing the Correction No. column.
MLS/PPC Code is 99 if not applicable
Once the Commodity code is entered, its name, units and rate per unit automatically appear.
